My family just spent Thanksgiving week at this gorgeous craftsman house – designed by owner of an Art Gallery, in a private resort community near Tryon, NC. She is now looking to rent it to a long term tenant. It’s very very beautiful and peaceful here. We took a long walk down from the back of the house through the woods and across a creek into pastures to visit the horses, went to the barn to see what’s happening. One day there were people going on a trail ride, the next there was a very cute rodeo party for kids. Later an impressively professional 8 yr old girl was practicing jumps in the ring for an upcoming competition. We walked over to the golf course to try to find an old water wheel. We got lost but found a tiny little fenced in unmarked graveyard. There were only about 8 headstones but they were hand carved. So weatherbeaten we could only make out the lettering on one. 1786-1859! The mountains going through this golf course used to be a stagecoach route between Spartanburg SC and Asheville. Cool! Eventually people would stop overnight in this spot and people settled. Nice walk in a beautiful place.
